FILE PREPARATION
Basically, you want your tracks to be flawless in performance with a reasonable track level. Usually between -16 db and -12 db full-scale for average levels, and momentary peaks around -3 to -6 db. If any tracks are clipped beyond digital zero, there is nothing that can be done.
Most DAW's can export in AAF file format. Bounce or consoldate/commit all of your tracks in the session while ensuring they all start at the beginning of the timeline together first. For MIDI files, make sure the regions are joined, and begin at session start as well. Then commit/bounce those as too. Send me the AAF file with the necessary audio files in a separate folder.
Audio files should be 24bit/48khz. Also, You can include DI tracks if you have them. However, I prefer if you have committed to your sounds from the start. Don't bake in your audio effects (ex. delay, reverb, etc.) unless integral to the sound (ex. guitar) but try to leave vocal tracks dry only. This gives more creative room to fit everything together into the final mix.
